Rob Glaser, Founder, Chairman and CEO of RealNetworks, Inc., has long been intrigued with the nexus of media, computing, communication and the Internet. Since founding Real in 1994, Mr. Glaser has played an integral role in the transformation of the Internet into the next great mass medium. In 1995 under Mr. Glaser's direction, Real introduced the groundbreaking RealAudio. Followed by RealVideo, RealPlayer and the systems to distribute audio and video including the Helix technologies, RealNetworks has continued to innovate and bring technologies to market. Additionally in 2000, RealNetworks began offering aggregated premium content online directly to consumers in a subscription service. In 2003, RealNetworks purchased Listen.com and built the Rhapsody music service into the leading music subscription service. With the combination of technology and business systems for monetizing media, RealNetworks and Mr. Glaser are at the forefront of the Internet media revolution. Prior to founding RealNetworks, Inc., Mr. Glaser worked for Microsoft for 10 years in a number of executive positions, including Vice President of Multimedia and Consumer Systems. Mr. Glaser has served on several non-profit boards and committees, including his appointment by President Clinton to the Advisory Committee on Public Interest Obligations of Digital Television Broadcasters. Mr. Glaser is a graduate of Yale University, with a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Computer Science.
As Chief Financial Officer, Michael Eggers is the senior executive responsible for Real's global finance operations, including: financial planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, tax, treasury, and internal audit. Michael Eggers joined RealNetworks in 1997. Prior to joining Real, Eggers worked at KPMG in the Audit Practice division. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting from the University of Washington.
Sid Ferrales joined RealNetworks in 2004 and is the senior executive responsible for Human Resources throughout the company. Mr. Ferrales has a distinguished 20-year career in human resources and organization development at technology companies. Prior to joining Real, Mr. Ferrales served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Interland, a leading provider of web hosting and online services. Earlier in his career, he served as a Human Resources executive for notable rapid growth companies including Dell Computer Corporation, Digital Equipment (DEC) and Motorola. Mr. Ferrales holds an M.A. in Social Rehabilitation from Sam Houston State University and a B.A. in Sociology from Texas State University.
John Giamatteo is President, Technology Products & Services and International Operations at RealNetworks. Mr. Giamatteo comes to Real from Nortel, where he was President and CEO of Nortel Networks Asia Pacific. In that capacity Mr. Giamatteo had full P&L responsibility for Nortel's Asia Pacific business across all functions including sales, marketing, channel management, installation, customer care, media and government relations, human resources, and finance. In that role, Mr. Giamatteo dramatically grew Nortel's business in the region and provided leadership to a staff of more than 1400 employees across Asia. Prior to this position, he held numerous other executive roles with Nortel including President of Japan and Korea and a variety of other management posts since beginning his career with Nortel in 1988. Mr. Giamatteo earned both his B.S. in Accounting and his M.B.A. from St John's University in New York.
Robert Kimball joined RealNetworks in 1999 and is the senior executive responsible for all legal matters. Mr. Kimball currently serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining RealNetworks, Mr. Kimball served as law clerk to the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcon on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Kimball was an attorney with the law firm of Sidley & Austin in Chicago before moving on to IBM Global Services where he held the position of Senior Attorney and Manager of Business Relations. Mr. Kimball holds a B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan and a J.D. Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was an editor of the Michigan Law Review.
Prior to his work at RealNetwoks, Mr. Lunsford served in a number of executive roles at Earthlink, Incorporated from 1999 to 2007, including interim CEO, president, and various other executive officer roles responsible for access and voice, broadband and brand
marketing.
Robert Williams is RealNetworks' Senior Vice President of Music Products. He is responsible for developing the company's world-class music products, including the award-winning Rhapsody service. Before joining Real in 2005, Mr. Williams was General Manager and Vice President of the Client Product Group at Openwave Systems, a global provider of standards-based software and services for the mobile industry. Mr. Williams came to Openwave in 2001 through the company's acquisition of Avogadro, a company he co-founded to help bridge the gap between PCs and mobile devices. Mr. Williams' prior experience includes eight years at Microsoft Corporation where he was a key contributor to Microsoft Windows' networking and multimedia technologies. Williams holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
Harold Zeitz joined RealNetworks in 2006 and is the executive responsible for overseeing the worldwide casual games business, media software & services business, advertising sales, and corporate marketing for the company. As chief operating officer for ShareBuilder Corporation, Zeitz oversaw marketing, sales, product development, business development, customer service and technology, growing ShareBuilder's revenue by more than 30 percent per year to its current position as the sixth largest and fastest growing online brokerage company in the U.S. Previously, Zeitz realigned company and product strategy as president and COO for WorldStream Communications, a multimedia communications service. Prior to that, he held several executive positions with AT&T Wireless where he led a number of consumer market initiatives, including the introduction of the first wireless "one rate" plan, after which he went on to lead consumer marketing. Mr. Zeitz holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Stanford School of Business.
