REALNETWORKS LAUNCHES REALPLAYER 10 - THE WORLD’S FIRST FREE MEDIA PLAYER SUPPORTING ALL MAJOR FILE FORMATS
RealPlayer 10 Now Available in The UK, Germany, Japan, and Other Markets
Major Content Owners Embrace New Player and Real 10 Platform
London, U.K. April 07, 2004 RealNetworks®, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK), the leading creator of digital media services and software, today announced the immediate availability of RealPlayer® 10 Gold in English, German, Japanese as well as North American versions. RealPlayer 10 is the world’s first free media player to enable consumers to effortlessly play and enjoy content in any of the major Internet media formats, including RealAudio® RealVideo®, AAC, Windows Media, QuickTime MPEG-4 and MP3. Released in "beta" form on January 7th in the U.S. only, the final version of RealPlayer 10 is available immediately for download by consumers in Europe (German and English language versions) Asia Pacific (English and Japanese language versions), as well as North America. RealNetworks also announced that additional brand-name content, including content from the UEFA Champions League, Channel 4, Virgin Radio, Air America Radio, Car Talk from NPR and Movielink, is now available to consumers on RealPlayer 10. To date, over 50 content and technology companies, including BT Rich Media have announced support for RealPlayer 10 and the Real 10 platform (see related press releases issued today.)

Consumers can download a basic free version of RealPlayer 10, upgrade to the premium version of RealPlayer 10, or get a combination of the premium version of RealPlayer 10, and enhanced content services such as RadioPass through a monthly subscription.
