INSTALLING & USING REALPLAYER - MOBILE ON NOKIA 9200 COMMUNICATORS

INSTALLING THE REALPLAYER ON YOUR NOKIA 9200 SERIES COMMUNICATOR
The 9210i and 9290 devices come with the RealPlayer pre-installed on the C: drive. Use the following method if you are using a 9210 device or for some reason the RealPlayer on your device is no longer installed. You can also find the installation file on the CD that came with your device or download it from this website.

1. Extract the .zip file you downloaded
2. Transfer the .sis file from your PC onto the Multimedia card in your Communicator
3. Open the Communicator
4. Press the office key at the top of the keyboard
5. Use the arrow keys on the large button at the bottom right of the keyboard to navigate to the file cabinet
6. Look on the MMC for the .sis file and navigate to it using the arrow keys
7. Press the Open hotkey on the right of the screen
8. This will launch the installer program
9. Accept all defaults

TRANSFERRING FILES TO YOUR 9200 SERIES COMMUNICATOR
There are two ways to transfer files:

Via Serial Cable

1. Connect your PC to the Nokia 9210 Communicator via the serial cable.
2. Doubleclick the "Nokia 9210 Communicator" icon on your PC desktop.
3. You should be able to view the available space on the Communicator and the MMC. Make sure your MMC is in the Communicator, if you have one.
4. Verify there is available space for the RealMedia (*.rm) file.
5. Drag and drop (copy) the downloaded RealMedia file from your PC to the appropriate drive on your Nokia 9210 Communicator (typically RealMedia files are stored on the MMC).

Via MMC Reader

1. Using a standard MMC reader connected to your PC, you can copy files from your PC directly to the MMC.
2. The reader acts like a removable disk drive, treating your memory card like a diskette. You can drag and drop files from the card to your PC hard disk drive and back.
3. Remove the MMC from the Nokia 9210 Communicator and place it in the MMC reader.
4. Verify there is available space for the RealMedia (*.rm) file.
5. Drag and drop (copy) the downloaded RealMedia file from your PC to the MMC.
6. Eject the MMC and place it back in the MMC slot on your Nokia 9210 Communicator.

PLAYING MEDIA FILES WITH NOKIA 9200 SERIES COMMUNICATORS

1. Press the "Extras" button on your 9210 keypad.
2. A set of applications should appear on the screen. Scroll over and highlight "RealPlayer".
3. Press the "Enter" key to launch the RealPlayer.
4. Press the "Open" softkey on the upper lid to open a media file.
5. Navigate through your directories and highlight the clip you would like to play.
6. Press the "Enter" key to begin playing the clip.

Note: Selecting the "Play" softkey on the upper lid plays the most recent clip.
