RealNetworks Showcases its Vision for Providing Consumers with Digital Entertainment That They Can Make Their Own at CTIA

Demonstrates new personalization and entertainment services for mobile operators to offer subscribers, emphasizing PC/mobile device integration

San Francisco (CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment® — October 23, 2007 —  This week at CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment®, RealNetworks®, Inc. (RNWK), the digital entertainment services company, is showcasing new products and services for mobile operators that will enable them to deliver the most sought-after personalization and integrated entertainment services to their subscribers. RealNetworks will be demonstrating its entire range of Application Service Provider (ASP) services—including two new services—alongside new games that operators can deploy to subscribers.

Consumers continue to become more technically savvy, and are looking to the mobile device to replicate or augment some of their favorite entertainment experiences on the PC. They expect seamless integration, and want to be able to easily access content they own from either device. Real continues to provide operators with solutions that will allow them to meet this expectation.

ASP Services
As consumers demand more from their mobile phones, mobile operators' are working to deliver more with less complication. By offering mobile operators a single source to deliver their subscribers innovative, new and converged services, Real's carrier customers can experience increased ARPU and a higher adoption rate for services. With a multi-service storefront from Real, carriers consistently realize a 25 percent usage increase in the cross-selling of new services. Not only does the growth rate of each service increase, but more subscribers become users of multiple services. At CTIA, Real will be showcasing its industry-leading ringtone, ringback tone, music-on-demand and video platforms, as well as introducing innovations such as Multimedia Ringback and CallerTag Services

Building upon Real's pioneering success in Ringback Tones, Real is making Multimedia Ringback (MRB) Services available to mobile operators around the world. This new 3G mobile service—first launched with Korea's SK Telecom earlier this year—ushers in a new level of personalization in Ringback Tones (RBTs), allowing subscribers to incorporate audio, images and video to deliver a unique, customized experience to callers before they are connected. Real's offering is a complete, end-to-end service that manages the entire solution on behalf of mobile service providers who operate on 3G networks. Real's average penetration rate for RBT globally is double that of carriers using a competitive product, and Real looks to build on that success with the MRB Service.

Another innovative personalization service being featured in the RealNetworks booth is CallerTag, which allows subscribers to display a personalized nickname or message alongside traditional caller ID information to people receiving their call — for fun or for business. Subscribers can personalize this message based on the person they are calling, the day of the week or for a special occasion.

Consumers are embracing over-the-air music downloads, and demanding seamless integration with their other digital music libraries. Real's solution is a dual-delivery system that ensures anything a consumer purchases on one device (PC or mobile) is available on the other as well. Real currently provides this service to Vodafone (Europe), Rogers (Canada), SKTelecom (South Korea) and one of the largest mobile operators in the United States. And beginning soon, Helio members will enjoy these benefits as well. In February of this year, Helio partnered with Real to provide a full-function mobile over-the-air Music-on-Demand download service, and will extend its agreement to the PC with a sleek, streamlined design, looking to Real to power all aspects of the Helio Music service as its Application Service Provider (ASP).

Real's services are currently available through 77 different carriers in 37 countries worldwide, making them available to 758 million subscribers.

Games
The multiple-screen environment in which most consumers now live has created opportunities for companies to provide integrated entertainment experiences that optimize the benefits of each device. RealArcade Mobile, one of the world's top ten mobile game publishers, draws upon top-selling games from its industry-leading PC-based casual games business, RealArcade.com, preserving the PC game elements consumers enjoy most, while turning them into successful mobile games.

RealArcade Mobile is showcasing the availability of three new mobile games at CTIA: Luxor 2, MTV Cribs and Collapse! Chaos.

Luxor 2: As the sequel to the number one PC game of 2005, Luxor 2 and its crisp graphics will set the new standard for action puzzle mobile games. Players use simple controls to aim various colored balls at like-colored balls and shoot them down as quickly as possible in this 30 level game. Luxor 2 will be available on major wireless carriers beginning in October.

MTV Cribs: After 12 seasons, fans of this hit series can live a virtual life just like the stars featured on the show, using both their phone and PC. As hip-hop superstars, players perform around the world and use their hard-earned cash to customize their cribs, then upload them to www.mtvmobilecribs.com to compete with other players. Colorful visual effects and the hottest beats make this an entertaining action puzzle game with lots of street attitude. MTV Cribs will be available on major wireless carriers beginning in November.

Collapse! Chaos: A mobile adaptation of Real's original award-winning casual game hit on the PC, SuperCollapse! 3 is part of one of the best-selling casual game franchises ever. This fun, addicting puzzle game tests players' block-busting skills in 40 unique levels and six game modes. Collapse! Chaos will be available on major wireless carriers beginning in December.

Real is uniquely positioned to provide these games for consumers on two screens, drawing upon its rich experience in casual games and transitioning successful PC titles onto the mobile handset. With its proprietary EMERGE development platform, RealArcade Mobile can port games in its catalog to a new handset faster than any other company in the mobile games space. With a growing catalogue of more than 40 games, RealArcade Mobile currently supports more than 800 handsets.

Real will be showcasing a selection of its services in booth number 933 at CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment®, October 23-25, 2007.
