RealPlayer for Mobile Devices is a multi-format, cross-platform player solution for delivering the highest quality digital media content and services to Windows, Linux, and Android-based mobile devices.  Built on the popular Helix DNA™ digital media platform, RealPlayer for Mobile Devices offers simplified codec licensing, an open platform for turnkey integration of third party multimedia services, and a consistent, quality entertainment experience across all hardware and software platforms.

RealPlayer for Mobile Devices provides a ubiquitous, reliable, and familiar media player experience with the performance to handle all of a consumer's digital entertainment needs.  Whether using the familiar RealPlayer branding or your own custom UI, end users will recognize and appreciate the core features in RealPlayer for Mobile Devices as the same ones found in the popular PC-version of the RealPlayer.

Simplified "One-Stop-Shop" Licensing
RealPlayer for Mobile Devices is a universal media player that supports playback of popular formats such as Real Media, Windows Media, H264, MPEG4, 3GP, AVI, H263, MP3, and AAC. (For a complete list of supported codecs and containers click on the Features tab above)  Regardless of operating system (OS) or processor, OEMs that bundle RealPlayer with their products benefit from a simple one-stop-shop license for all codecs.  Licensees obtain an integrated license from RealNetworks instead of to each individual codec licensor, thus significantly reducing development, legal and administration costs, and speeding up time to market for their multimedia products.  One-Stop-Shop License

Turnkey Multimedia Solution
Availability of common codecs and an open platform API make RealPlayer for Mobile Devices the ideal choice for both multimedia service providers and mobile carriers that are looking for a standardized way to deliver multi-format content services across different platforms.  Content providers can now develop a single, simplified content delivery infrastructure designed for delivering media across all hardware types, whether it's a Netbook, Smartbook, Smartphone, or other emerging device.

RealPlayer for Mobile Devices is built upon the same 14th generation Helix DNA media framework that has been deployed on over 430 million devices including mobile phones, portable media players, televisions, and Internet radios.  Capable of playing back Windows Media, AAC, MP3, Real Media, and a variety of other codecs (see below for full list), RealPlayer is a complete and hassle-free media solution for all platforms.

  • Currently implemented on netbooks, mobile internet devices (MIDs), smartphones, and smartbooks

  • High definition video (where hardware support is available)

Whether running on a Linux, Windows, or Android operating system, RealPlayer for Mobile Devices architecture is built with an open platform API that allows for extensibility and customization.
