HOW IT WORKS

Media Commerce Suite offers inherent end-to-end security everywhere your media goes. The suite is comprised of four components listed below.

RealSystem Packager
The Packager prepares media content for distribution by applying robust encryption to the media, which can then be distributed via streaming, download, or other delivery methods. The packaged media content and the business rules for that content are stored separately, so that multiple sets of business rules can be applied to a single file.

RealSystem License Server
The License Server issues content licenses via any retail gateway to trusted, authenticated media playback clients such as the Media Commerce Upgrade for RealPlayer. Licenses can also be revoked by the content owner in the event of a security breach.

Media Commerce Upgrade for RealOne Player
With the Upgrade, RealPlayer enforces and manages the business rules and usage rights associated with secure media. Over 15 million Media Commerce Upgrades have already been distributed to RealPlayer customers since February 2001.

Server plug-in
The plug-in enables streaming of protected media from the Helix Server. This plug-in is currently shipping with Helix Universal Server. Customers need to have a valid license for activation.
