Enjoy Videos, Photos and Music Across All Devices with the New RealPlayer

SEATTLE — September 28, 2010 — RealNetworks,® Inc. (NASDAQ: RNWK), the digital entertainment services company, announced the new RealPlayer® today.  This latest version brings improvements to the free application that lets consumers play, manage, share and move photos, videos and music across a wide range of devices. Adding to existing popular features like one-click video downloading and transferring to mobile devices, the new RealPlayer now allows users to move media off their mobile devices and into their RealPlayer library. This application, currently in Beta, is available now at www.real.com/realplayer/beta.

Underscoring Real's ongoing commitment to innovation in the delivery of digital entertainment to consumers around the world, RealPlayer continues to evolve as a complete media management solution.  The new RealPlayer aims to make it easier than ever before to manage and move media across devices without worrying about file formats or conversion issues, giving users the control and flexibility to enjoy their media on their own terms.

"Most people today have a mounting collection of videos, photos and music piling up across their computers, mobile devices and smart phones, and sometimes, this content doesn't even make it off those devices," said Peter Kellogg-Smith, vice president for RealNetworks. "The new RealPlayer provides a simple solution for streamlining and centralizing these videos, photos and music, making it easier than ever to move, manage and preserve all your media between screens."

The free, new RealPlayer allows users to:

  • Organize all their videos, photos and music in one place

  • Download favorite videos from thousands of web sites with one-click

  • Play more music and video file types, including H.264, 3GP, MP3, and AAC

  • Copy favorite videos to an iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and dozens of other popular devices automatically

An optional upgrade to RealPlayer Plus will be available in October for $39.99, and will include accelerated video downloading and transferring features, in addition to advanced CD and DVD burning capabilities.
