Excelcom and RealNetworks Renew Ringback Tone Partnership
Agreement extends Real's delivery of RBT service to Excelcom subscribers for five additional years
HONG KONG (MUSIC MATTERS ASIA 2008) — June 5, 2008 — From Music Matters Asia, digital entertainment services company RealNetworks®, Inc. (RNWK) today announced the five year extension of its contract with leading Indonesian wireless services provider, PT EXCELCOMINDO PRATAMA Tbk (XL). Under this renewed agreement, Real will continue to power XL's popular Ringback Tone (RBT) service.
Since June 2005 Real has made RBTs available to XL's subscribers. As the third largest Indonesian carrier, XL currently has the most diverse content download channels of applications such as SMS, UMB (Universal Mobile browser), STK (Sim Tool Kit), WEB, WAP and IVR as well as the highest market penetration rate for RBT among its subscribers.

A pioneer in the wireless space, Real (through its acquisition of WiderThan) was the world's first RBT service provider with SK Telecom in May 2002, and subsequently the first US RBT service provider with a major US carrier in November 2004. During the course of their partnership with XL, Real's services have evolved to include such new features as GIFT, which enables a subscriber to give an RBT to another subscriber, JUKEBOX, which allows subscribers to select a list of RBTs that randomly shuffle to play different song for each incoming call. Real continues to plan for future RBT service enhancements.
